Hi, I’m Clara Marie Lüders, an AI / ML engineer and data scientist who enjoys turning complex problems into practical, data-driven solutions.

Since December 2023, I’ve been with OPTANO. My path there began as an Analytics Software Engineer, progressed through an AI Enablement project, and has led me to my current role as an Analytics Consultant.

As an Analytics Software Engineer, I developed software to address Operations Research challenges, focusing on inventory and network optimisation. During the AI Enablement project, my mission was to help colleagues engage with and apply AI in meaningful, targeted ways. Today, as an Analytics Consultant, I organise projects and serve as an in-house AI Consultant, helping integrate AI and LLM technologies into OPTANO’s software and workflows to create real, lasting value.

Before joining OPTANO, I earned my Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Hamburg. My research centred on how Issue Tracking Systems, their links, and their comments can be analysed and supported by Machine Learning, particularly large language models (LLMs), to better understand and improve software development in practice.

In my current research, I’m also exploring how Generative AI changes work, learning, and quality within organisations. A core focus is on how companies can use AI effectively without eroding essential knowledge, human responsibility, or quality standards.

My technical background is in mathematics, machine learning, deep learning, and applied AI, but I prefer to think in terms of problems, context, and useful solutions rather than buzzwords. It’s important to me that technology isn’t just impressive on paper, but remains approachable and practical for the people working with it.

Outside of work, I’m into Karate, video games, escape rooms, and languages, currently learning Japanese, a bit of Korean, and Spanish.
